  • Foreigners and Non-residents are not entitled to subsidised rates.

  • Fees above represent only ward charges and do not include other hospital charges e.g. procedures, medication, laboratory tests, x-rays etc.
  • Foreigners and patients admitted due to industrial accidents are only eligible for private wards.

1. Deposit:

You may be required to place a deposit at the point of admission. Payment can be made in cash, NETS, local cheque or credit card (VISA, Mastercard or Diners Club).

Partial or full waiver of deposit is accepted if a Letter of Guarantee from an employer or an insurer is available.

A non-resident patient will need to furnish a letter of guarantee from a local firm or insurance company or a banker's guarantee.

2. Request to Change Accommodation Status:

The patient may request to change to a higher or lower class ward at any time during the hospitalisation stay except when the patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

3. Change of Accomodation:

a) To a Ward in a Higher Class

Upon your request, a deposit will have to be paid and an application of retrospective charges will be submitted. *

*Please note that all services utilised at the lower class will be charged at the higher class rate from the time of admission. Ward charges for the upgraded class ward will be effective from the date of transfer.

b) To a Ward in a Lower Class

Subject to bed availability, upon your request, hospital charges and ward fees will only be affected when the patient is physically transferred to ward of lower class. **

**Please note that this type of request cannot be processed 24 hours prior to discharge.

  • Consultation fee charges listed above exclude joint consultation fees.

Visit will be treated as first consultation if
  • patient has been discharged.
  • the last visit has lapsed by more than 12 months.

Outpatients will be classified as private or subsidised patients based on the following terms:

  1. You will be classified as a private patient if your first visit is via:
    • Self-Referral or Walk-in
    • Referral letter from General Practitioner (GP)
    • Referral letter from a Private Hospital
    • Referral letter from a Restructured Hospital under private status and/or specifying a consultant by name
    • Referral letter from a Polyclinic and specifying a consultant by name
    • Industrial Accident
    • Discharge from inpatient class A or B1
  2. You will be classified as a subsidised patient if your first visit is via:
    • Referral letter from a Restructured Hospital under subsidised status, A&E, Polyclinic or SAF without specifying a specialist by name
    • Discharge from inpatient class B2 or C without specifying a specialist by name
  3. Subsidy is only applicable for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, who are not existing private patients for the same medical condition.

Medisave (Back to top)

You and your immediate family members i.e. your spouse, children, parents or grandparents (For grandparents, they must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents) can use Medisave to pay your hospitalisation bill and the approved outpatient treatments incurred at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

During registration, you should inform the hospital staff that you wish to use your Medisave to pay. You should also bring along your NRIC/Passport or your CPF membership card. You will also need to sign a Medisave Authorisation Form authorising the CPF Board to deduct from your Medisave Account to pay for the hospital bill.

The Medisave Claim limits are as follows:

  • S$450 per day for daily hospital charges for inpatient cases.
  • Up to S$300 per day for daily hospital charges for approved day surgeries.
  • Up to S$150 per day for inpatient psychiatric treatment, subject to a maximum of S$5,000 a year.
  • The withdrawal limit for the operation charges is according to the table of surgical operation, as given below :

Outpatient (Back to top)

  • Approved chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, lipids disorders, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, schizophrenia and major depression.The withdrawal limit is up to S$300 per Medisave account a year subject to S$30 deductible and 15% co-payment by patient.
  • Outpatient MRI scans, CT scans and other diagnostics for cancer patients which is up to S$600 per year.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination and Pneumococcal vaccination for children under age 5 which is up to S$300 per Medisave account per year.
  • Renal dialysis treatment S$450 a month (Only the patient’s Medisave may be used. For patients age of 18 and below, the parents’ Medisave may be used).
  • Long Term Oxygen Therapy and Infant Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Therapy. Medisave of S$75 per month maybe used for the rental of the devices that provide concentrated oxygen or pressured oxygen for the above treatments.

Medishield (Back to top)

Medishield is a catastrophic medical insurance that helps CPF members and their dependants meet the costs of treatment for serious illness or prolonged hospitalisation.

You need to inform the staff handling your admission that you wish to claim from Medishield. The hospital will submit the Medishield claim on your behalf to the CPF Board. After processing, the Board will pay directly to the hospital. The remaining amount which is not covered by Medishield may then be settled by patients either with Medisave or cash or both.

Private Medisave-approved Integrated Shield plans (PMI) (Back to top)

Apart from the MediShield scheme, there are other Medisave-approved Integrated Shield plans offered by private insurers. PMI is a scheme which allows CPF members to use their Medisave savings to buy Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plans for themselves and their dependants.

Each insured person can only have one Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plan paid with Medisave.
