Managed by Alexandra Health, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) is the newest public hospital in Yishun, built to serve the healthcare needs of more than 700,000 people who live and work in the north of Singapore.
The opening of KTPH in 2010 marks the beginning of an integrated healthcare hub in the northern region, where we aim to provide high quality, affordable healthcare to the community. Other plans in the pipeline for the cluster include a community hospital and a specialist centre.
KTPH offers a comprehensive range of medical services as well as a full suite of medical specialties. At KTPH, taking care of the healthcare needs of patients goes beyond the medical services that we provide. It is also about providing the right kind of environment in and around the hospital – a place that is both conducive and comfortable for healing.
The hospital has been designed with patients’ comfort in mind. Since its opening, the building has garnered numerous awards for its green and energy efficient design. Patients can enjoy comfortable accommodation in different categories of wards with views of greenery and naturally cool air from improved ventilation.
Patients, visitors and members of the public can relax and enjoy the lush gardens and healing environment with the adjacent Yishun Pond. The pond will be rejuvenated to become a waterfront community space for relaxation and healing, where its surroundings will be developed into an intergenerational health-promoting park for everyone to enjoy.
KTPH opened its Specialist Outpatient Clinics on 28 March 2010. Since 28 June 2010, the Acute Care and Emergency Centre (A&E) and the inpatient wards have also opened. With this, KTPH is fully ready to serve the healthcare needs of residents living in Singapore's northern region.
